Full Hearing Assessment
Your full hearing assessment will include:
- Taking a medical history as well as understanding the impacts that your hearing levels may be having on your quality of life.
- Otoscopy of the outer ear, eardrum and canal to investigate reasons for possible hearing impairment.
- Puretone audiometry determines the level of hearing loss.
Additional testing may be performed if felt clinically necessary to aid the diagnosis and any potential benefit you may expect from a hearing device.
At the end of the assessment your results will be reviewed with you in-depth explaining what they mean and providing you with a copy of the hearing assessment, known as an audiogram. You will also be provided with expert advice on preventative or corrective measures as required.
It is recommended that you be accompanied by a family member or close friend for the assessment. They will be able to support any decision you might make and may also be able to add further insight into your hearing difficulties.
